AP State Government has released GOs 174,
GO 175, GO 176 Dt: Diwali gift,
cashless medical treatment facility to all Govt employees , pensioners and family members.
It will benefit 14lakhs state Govt employees and pensioners. The total beneficiaries are
approximately to be around 70 lakh. With this, an employee, pensioners, dependents can
go hospital and undergo treatment and does not have to pay for treatment and claim cost later.
An health card holder can go hospital and avail cashless treatment. Its very enabling provision
for easy and hassle free treatment. The government will spend Rs.400/- crore every year on
the scheme , employee contribution Rs.90/- and Rs.120/- based on their salary. The scheme would
be reviewed after six months and fix shortfalls. The contribution will be deducted from the employee monthly salary.
The health insurance scheme will be maintained by the Arogyasree Healthcare Trust (AHT) and a steering committee headed
by the chief secretary will monitor the scheme. The scheme enables treatments up to Rs.2lakhs for each treatment of
hospitalization and there is no limit on the number of spells of treatment is taken. If the treatment cost exceeds
Rs.2lakhs, the treatment can be continued with prior approval of the Healthcare Trust.
