APTET Structure, Content, Syllabus

The APTET 2024 Educational Qualifications are structured into two segments: Paper-1 for classes 1st to 5th Class, and Paper-2 for teaching 6th Class to 8th Class. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for both categories, including special education credentials where applicable. Additionally, those pursuing Teacher Education Courses recognized by NCTE or RCI until the academic year 2023-24 are eligible to apply for APTET 2024.

Qualifications for AP TET 2024 Papers I & II

Paper-I (Classes 1 to 5) Eligibility

To be eligible for AP-TET Paper-I (Classes 1 to 5) in regular schools, you need to meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
  2. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE regulations of 2002.
  3. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed),
  4. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education),
  5. Graduation with a two-year diploma in Elementary Education.

Note: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PH categories are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5% in qualifying marks.

Paper-II (Classes 6 to 10) Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for TET Paper II (Classes 6th -8th) in regular schools for Mathematics and Science Teachers/Social Studies Teachers/Language Teachers are as follows:

  1. At least 50% marks either in Graduation or Post Graduation with B.Ed., or
  2. Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor of Education as per NCTE recognition norms and procedures, or
  3. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed), or
  4. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc. Ed. or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., or
  5. Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
  6. Post Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and a three-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.

Pass Criteria in TET Paper-I(A&B), Paper-II(A&B)

APTET-2024 tentative results will be declared on the same day of completion of examination. However the final result will be given after final key as per the scheduled mention below. The criteria for considering pass in APTET are as follows.

Validity Period of TET Certificate/ Marks Memo

AP TET Certificate / Marks memo shall remain valid for a lifetime in accordance with NCTE guidelines dated:9/6/2021 as amended. The validity of TET qualifying certificate prior to 9/6/2021 shall be lifetime as per GO.69 Dt:25/10/2021. This certificate will also be made available in the digi locker from the date and time of the TET result.

AP TET-2024 Weightage in DSC

20% Weightage will be given to APTET scores in the ensuing Teacher Recruitment of the State Government. In other words, 20% is for APTET score and 80% weightage for written test in Teacher Recruitment Test(TRT) for drawing up the selection list.
