Enrollment Campaign in Junior College, High School Plus, Increase Student Enrollment
The government has recently upgraded 504 High Schools to Junior Colleges, adding to the existing 476 Government Junior Colleges. This significant increase aims to boost Gross Enrollment Ratio at the Higher Secondary level. Our goal is to enroll all SSC students from Government Schools (ZPHS, MHS, KGBV, Model Schools, and others) in these institutions.
On the Spot Admission in Junior College
To achieve this, RJDIEs and DVEOs are instructed to task Principals of Government Junior Colleges to form teams and collaborate with Mandal Education Officers. These teams will visit Government-managed High Schools, encouraging students to join Government Junior Colleges. On-the-spot admissions will be facilitated, requiring submission of the SSC report card upon college opening. Admission details must be recorded in the JnanaBhumo portal.
A mapping exercise linking Government High Schools to Junior Colleges has been conducted for clarity, with details provided in Annexure-I and on the GATI SHAKTI Portal. Login credentials for RJDs and DVEOs on GATI SHAKTI will be shared soon.
RJDIEs and DVEOs must ensure optimal student enrolment in Junior Colleges according to capacity (88 for General Courses, 40 for Non-Paramedical Vocational Courses, and 30 for Paramedical Courses). This Enrollment Campaign is crucial, with monitoring starting April 1, 2024.
