JNVST Admission Notification 2025: The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admission into  6th class has been announced by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) for the academic year 2025–2026. Online applications are invited for admission into class VI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas through the JNVST for the session 2025-26. The oneline application has started from 16 July 2024. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test – 2025 Dates

JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2025-26 will be held in two phases as given below:
a. On Saturday, 12th April, 2025 at 11.30 A.M. in the States of Jammu and Kashmir (except Jammu-I, Jammu-II & Samba), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal, and Leh & Kargil districts of UT Ladakh.

b. Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2025-26: Eligibility Criteria

Students who are  looking to apply for Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 Admission for the 2025-26 session, here are the key eligibility requirements:

Age Limit for JNVST Class 6 (2025-26)
  • The applicant must be born between 1st May 2013 and 31st July 2015 (both dates inclusive).
  • This age limit applies to all categories (OBC, SC, ST, etc.).
  • A valid government-issued birth certificate must be provided during admission.
  • In case of age discrepancies, candidates may be referred to a Medical Board for verification, whose decision will be final.
Educational Qualification for Navodaya Class 6 Admission
  • Admission is district-specific. Candidates studying in Class 5 in the same district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is located are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must provide valid residential proof for the district where they completed Class 5. This proof must be submitted during admission.

Instructions for the candidates

    1. The process of submission of online application involves only single stage.
    2. The reservations to the OBC candidates shall be implemented as per Central List. The OBC candidates not included in Central list should apply as General Candidate.
    3. Keep the following scanned copies ready before start filling the application in JPG Format Only.
      • Candidate’s signature. (Size of signature should be between 10-100 kb.)
      • Parent’s signature. (Size of signature should be between 10-100 kb.)
      • Candidate’s photograph. (Size of image should be between 10-100 kb.)

How to Apply JNVST-2025 NVS 6th Class Online Application

  1. First login to the official website https://navodaya.gov.in
  2. In the home page first read carefully admission notification and prospectus.
  3. Then click on the link “Submit Online Application form”
  4. Then click on the Class VI registration
  5. Enter mandatory information in the page
  6. Enter your Adhar number and enter OTP received.
  7. Enter your all details of the candidate.
  8. Upload relevant documents
  9. Click on submit button.
  10. Download the PDF copy of application for further reference.

The selection test will be of two-hour duration from 11:30 am to 01:30 pm and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks

Procedure to register online for JNVST-2024

  •  The process for submission of application for JNV Selection Test has been simplified through online process. Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through https://navodaya.gov.in
  •  Candidates/ parents have to go through the notification cum prospectus and ensure the fulfillment of eligibility criteria. 
  • The following documents in soft form (.JPG format of size between 10 to 100 kb) may be kept ready for registration:

                 • Certificate verified by the Head Master mentioning the details of candidate in the prescribed format
                • Photograph
                • Signature of parent
                 • Signature of candidate
                 • Aadhaar details/ Residence certificate issued by competent Governmentauthority.

  •  Basic details of candidate like State, District, Block, Aadhaar number, etc. are to be filled in the application portal. The procedure mentioned at point 4.7 in the prospectus may kindly be referred.
  •  The eligible candidates have to fill up the online form and upload the verified certificate with the photograph along with signatures of both candidate and his/her parent. The verification of the information provided by the parent in the certificate will be done by the Head Master of the School where the candidate is studying in class V. The certificate should be uploaded in jpg format of the size between10-100 kb only.
  • In case of candidates from NIOS, candidates should obtain `B’ certificate and residence should be in the same district where he/she is seeking admission.
  • Online platform is in open source and free of cost. Application may be submitted from any source like desktop, laptop, mobile, tablet etc.
  • In all JNVs a help desk will be available to assist the candidates/parents to upload application free of cost. Parents may also approach the help desk in JNV along with candidate and required documents such as verified certificate with photograph along with signature of both candidate and his/her parent and a mobile phone with valid active mobile number for receiving the OTP,registration number and password through SMS for registration process.
  • All the efforts are to be made to provide correct information in the portal which may be substantiated at the time of admission after selection with supporting documents.
  • Since online data is being captured, it is requested to fill the data in online application form with due care. In case of discrepancy between the data in theonline application form and information submitted in the certificate attached, the information submitted in the online application form will be taken as final for further processing.
  • The correction window to modify the information in the selected fields only will be opened for a few days after the last date of submission of application form. The information of opening correction window will be uploaded in NVS website/registration portal.

Issue of JNVST-2025 Admit Cards

The admit cards will be made available as per date decided by NVS in due course which will be displayed on application portal. The admit cards shall be downloaded free of cost by the candidates/parents before the conduct of JNVST-2025.

Result of the JNV Selection Test 2025

The result of JNV Selection Test 2025 is expected to be announced by February 2025. Candidates can get the result from the admission portal. The result will also be displayed in the offices of the concerned:

  2. District Education Officer
  3.  District Magistrate
  4. Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti of the Region.

No 2nd Time Appear to the JNVST

No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time, under any circumstances. Particulars filled by the candidate in the application form will be validated & if the candidate is found repeater, he/she will not be allowed to appear in the selection test. Admit card for such candidates will not be released. An SMS in this regard will be sent to the registered mobile number of the candidate.

OMR Sheet for Ansewers:

  • Method of recording responses by the candidate in the OMR(Answer) Sheet only.
  • OMR Sheet will be provided to the candidates to record the responses (Answers).
  • Every candidate will be allotted with a seven-digit unique roll number. The same is to be marked in the OMR sheet as indicated.
  •  If the candidate wants to indicate C as the answer, the same may be marked as under.
  • The response, once marked can not be modified.
