IIT JEE Mains 2025: Application Process for January and April Sessions
- Separate Applications for Each Session
Candidates can apply for the January 2025 Session (Session 1) and pay the corresponding fee. Later, they can apply for the April 2025 Session (Session 2) using the same application number. Each session’s application and payment will be handled separately, with details for Session 2 announced in a separate notification. - Applying for Session 2
Candidates interested in only the April 2025 exam may wait to apply until the Session 2 application form is available. They can log in with their existing application number and pay the exam fee during the designated application window. - Application Window Reopening
The Session 2 application period will reopen as per the schedule mentioned in the Information Bulletin, with additional notice through Public Notice for any updates. - Online Fee Payment Options
Candidates must submit the examination fee through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI services. Applicable GST and processing fees are charged by the bank/payment gateway. - Confirmation Page Generation
A confirmation page will be generated once the payment is successful. If not generated, candidates should contact the respective bank or payment gateway using the helpline information in Appendix I to verify the transaction or request a refund for any duplicate payments.
Mode of IIT JEE Mains 2025 Examination
- Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech): Conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) only.
- Paper 2A (B. Arch): Mathematics (Part I) and Aptitude Test (Part II) in CBT mode, with Drawing Test (Part III) in offline, pen-and-paper mode on an A4-size drawing sheet.

- Correct Answer: Awarded four marks (+4).
- Incorrect Answer: Deducts one mark (-1).

IIT JEE Mains 2025: Step-by-Step Online Application Procedure
Step 1: Register for the Application Form
- Start by registering on the official portal to receive a system-generated Application Number.
- Complete the registration form by entering personal details, creating a unique password, selecting a security question, and answering it.
- After submission, an Application Number will be generated, which candidates should keep for all future steps and references. This number applies to both sessions of JEE Mains 2025.
- For each subsequent login, candidates will use this Application Number along with their password.
Step 2: Complete the Application Form
- Log in with your Application Number and password to access the main application form.
- Fill out all required information, including personal details, choice of paper, preferred exam cities, and educational qualifications.
- Upload scanned images as per specifications:
- Photograph: Recent color passport-size with 80% face visible, against a white background; format JPG/JPEG, 10 kb to 300 kb.
- Signature: JPG/JPEG format, 10 kb to 50 kb.
- Class X Certificate: PDF format, 10 kb to 300 kb.
- PwD Certificate (if applicable): PDF format, 10 kb to 300 kb.
- Note: Upload only your own documents and images as correction facilities may not be available later. Any misuse will be considered an Unfair Means (UFM) practice and lead to actions as per the Information Bulletin.
Step 3: Payment of Fees
- After completing Steps 1 and 2, proceed to the fee payment section.
- Pay the application fee via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. Additional processing charges and GST may apply.
- Upon successful payment, a Confirmation Page will be generated. If not, contact the bank for a refund, as the transaction may be incomplete. You will need to attempt the payment again to ensure your application is processed.
