The full form of PINDICS is Performance Indicators . PINDICS are used to assess the performance of teachers in
class room situation. The PINDICS consists forms to assess the Performance Standards(PS), Performance Indicators and
Special standards. The arrears in which teachers perform their tasks and responsibilities can weigh with performance
standards. There are some specific tasks under performance standards, which is called as specific standards.
As per the rules, provisions laid in the Sections 24,29 of RTE Act-2009 ,NCF-2005, SSA Framework-2011 the PINDICS was created. There are two types of assessments,
one is self-assessment by teacher and another by the assessment of the Headmaster concerned or School Complex Headmaster concerned.
Rating Points in PINDICS
PINDICS aims to assess own performance by teachers themselves which helps better to make constant efforts to get top level.
By using this one can get positive and constructive feedback for the improvement of teachers performance. Following are the
rating points to assess teachers performance.
- Not meeting the expected standard
- Approaching the expected standard
- Approached the expected standard
- Beyond the expected standard
Performance Indicators or Performance Standards(PS)
The desired expectations in the class room comes under Performance Standards. The following are the performance
standards to be achieved in the class room.
- Designing Learning Experiences for Children
- Knowledge and Understanding of Subject Matter
- Strategies for Facilitating Learning
- Interpersonal Relationship
- Professional Development
- School Development
- Teacher Attendance
Guidelines to the Headmaster
The Headmaster shall carry out an assessment twice in a year. While conducting assessment Headmaster should keep following pints in his mind.
- Use teacher’s self-assessment record.
- Observe actual classroom processes .
- Have dialogue with teacher, pupils to supplement teacher’s report.
- Prepare a destructive report with teachers concerned to improve level of performance.
- Should discuss the report you observed with the concerned teacher to improve the level of performance.
- Complete teacher performance sheet and Consolidate sheet.
