CBSE Conducting CTET 2023

The Ministry of Education, Government of India entrusted the work of conducting CTET to Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE). CTET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be fully aware of the CTET Eligibility Criteria in order to take the CTET 2023 July Exam. As stated in CTET Notification 2023, the eligibility conditions, such as educational qualification, are described below.

The persons possessing minimum qualifications for the teaching staff in accordance with the following are eligible for appearing in the CTET:

  1. National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.

  2. Minimum qualifications laid down in the Recruitment Rules for the teachers by the Appropriate Government where the school is situated or the Recruitment Rules for the teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

  3. The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concerned recruiting agency / appointing authority.

CTET 2023 Educational Qualification  for 1st to 5th Classes

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the first year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the first year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the first year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the first year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

CTET 2023 Educational Qualification  for 6th to 8th Classes

  • Graduation and passing or appearing in the first year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the first year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the first year of 4-year B.A/B. Sc. Ed or B.A.Ed/ B. Sc. Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

CTET  2023 Test Exam Details

The CTET 2023 exam is set for July and August of 2023. The CTET 2023 Exam will only be administered via computer-based testing (CBT). The CTET application process, eligibility requirements, curriculum, and exam schedule for the CTET 2023 July cycle are all available on their official website. The CBSE will administer the 17th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode in December 2023 (tentative).
